Glove Care
Goalkeeper Glove Care Guide
1. Before First Use:
Remove Protective Film: Generally found on our Super Contact Latex Palms, Aqua grip does not have this.
Pre-wash your gloves: Rinse the palms with lukewarm water (no soap) to remove preservatives from manufacturing and activate the latex grip.
Air dry naturally: Let them dry away from direct heat or sunlight. Do not leave on radiators, airing cupboards near open fires or a washing line on a hot day, try not to let them dry out fully, a little moisture left in them is good for the latex.
2. During Use:
Moisten palms before play: Slightly damp latex with water improves grip and prevents tearing.
Avoid rubbing gloves on hard surfaces: Especially when diving on artificial turf or dry grass.
Keep moist: Your grips will perform the way you need them if you keep moist during play, water from your water bottle or good old fashion spit!
3. After Each Use:
Rinse gloves thoroughly: Use lukewarm water (30°C max). Gently squeeze—don’t wring—to remove dirt and sweat.
Mild glove wash optional: Use glove-specific cleaner if heavily soiled. Avoid detergents or bleach.
Dry properly:
Air dry in a cool, ventilated area.
Avoid dryers, radiators, or direct sun.
Never wring or twist the gloves.
4. Storage:
Store in a glove bag or breathable pouch to prevent drying out or Mold build-up. Wrapping them in a towel is also good.
Keep palms slightly damp when storing for long periods, especially soft latex gloves.
5. Rotation & Usage:
Have 2-3 pairs: Two for matches, one main and one back-up and a pair for training to preserve match gloves.
Retire gloves once grip is noticeably diminished—these can be used for training and match pairs replaced.
